David Cox

David Cox (1783-1859) was a landscape artist who worked primarily in watercolor. One can see echoes of Turner in his work.

 A Welsh Funeral, Betwys-y-Coed (ca. 1847-50)

 Antwerp, Morning (1832)

 Battle Abbey, Sussex

 Boy Opening Gate for Sheep

 Crossing Lancaster Sands (1830s)
[here's Turner's painting of the very same subject]

 Dover (1832)

 Going to the Hayfield (1849)

 Haymaking (ca. 1808)

Landscape with a Man Washing His Feet at a Fountain, after Poussin (ca. 1821)

London Bridge
