English painting in the 1800s was blessed by several artists who produced work that was radically different from anything else being done at the time, exhibiting a completely different order of creativity.
Albert Goodwin (1845–1932) was one of these. He specialized in watercolor landscapes, often focusing on cityscapes and buildings. His paintings have an otherworldly feel to them and must have been extremely startling in their day.
